Our Philosophy

Welcome to The Magical Movement Dance Academy. Our goal is to provide a magical adventure for boys and girls of all ages. Building your child's self esteem and providing excellent instruction in a warm loving environment is our top priority. We LOVE working with children and we LOVE our jobs. We want to share the magic and creativity of a fine arts education with your child. We teach with encouragement and we reward success in every class!

About our studio and staff

LeAnn Garth the owner of Magical Movement has been involved in the dance arts for over 30 years as a professional dancer and instructor. She has owned studios in Europe and the far east, and taught for major international companies in Europe. Upon returning from Europe, she opened The Magical Movement Studio of Dance in the fall of 1999. It has been an exciting, happy and safe place to learn and dance ever since. The preschool curriculum has been so successful that Mrs. LeAnn has been in demand as a trainer for professional companies and studios wishing to start a preschool program.

The studio is state-of-the-art and designed in 2007. Its a bright colorful and comfortable space, approximately 2,500 square feet complete with neoprene padded floors and closed circuit television cameras for class observation. They also have a large observation window in the dance room for parent observation. All of Magical Movement's instructors have degrees, professional experience or professional certifications. Several instructors have all three. The average class size is approximately 12 students per instructor. Some classes will also have assistants. Magical Movement's goal is to give every child personal attention, corrections and praise in every single class!!!!

Dress Code

Magical Movement has a relaxed, but firm, dress code. Please adhere to the following rules:

For all classes: No tutus, costumes, excessive sequins, or long skirts. All ballet shoes must have sewn elastics; not tied under the arch.

Creative Movement: pink footed tights, solid color leotard (long sleeve, short sleeve, or tank) in a color of your choice. Pink leather ballet shoes with an elastic draw string. Skirts are optional; no longer than mid thigh; elastic waist or attached to leotard only.

Combo 1, 2, 3: pink footed tights, solid color leotard (long sleeve, short sleeve, or tank) in a color of your choice. Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic draw string. Black tap shoes with single ribbon lacing hole on each side; no velcro, snaps, or buckles. Special elastic tap ties must be purchased from the studio. Skirts are optional; no longer than mid-thigh; elastic waist or attached to leotard only.

Ballet/Jazz combo: pink footed tights, solid color leotard (long sleeve, short sleeve, or tank) in a color of your choice. Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic draw string. Black pull on jazz shoes (no laces).

Ballet 1, 2, 3, 4: pink footed tights, solid color leotard (long sleeve, short sleeve, or tank) in a color of your choice. Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic draw string. Skirts at the discretion of the instructor; please ask before purchasing.

Ballet 5, Pre-Pointe, Pointe: pink footed or convertible tights, solid color leotard (long sleeve, short sleeve, tank or camisole) in a color of your choice. Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. Pointe only: pink pointe shoes; elastics and ribbons sewn and secured.

Jazz (all levels): tan or pink tights, solid color leotard (long sleeve, short sleeve, or tank) of your choice, slip on black jazz shoes (not jazz sneakers or hip hop boots). Jazz pants will be optional after instructor approval. Soffe shorts or gymnastics shorts are optional.

Hip Hop (all levels): shorts or jazz pants; snug fitting tshirt or leotard. Black hip hop sneakers. Instructor discretion for dress code.

Modern: shorts or jazz pants; snug fitting tshirt or leotard. Bare feet or “foot undees”.

We are open from Monday through Saturday. Please see the class schedule for the hours the studio is in operation. To reach a staff member please call the studio and leave a message.
