Our Philosophy

Welcome to The Magical Movement Dance & Fine Arts Academy. Our goal is to provide a magical fine arts adventure for boys and girls of all ages. Building your child's self esteem and providing excellent instruction in a warm loving environment is our top priority. We LOVE working with children and we LOVE our jobs. We want to share the magic and creativity of a fine arts education with your child. We teach with encouragement and we reward success in every class!

The National Endowment of the Arts explains that “Research strongly suggest that young people who learn about and participate in the arts acquire skills that help them in decision making, problem solving, creative thinking and team work. An increasing number of studies also find that arts programs motivate children to learn, assisting in improving performance in core academic subjects”

Americans for the Arts states that “Students involved with the arts are 4x more likely to be recognized for academic achievement.”

About our studio and staff

LeAnn Garth the owner of Magical Movement has been involved in the dance arts for 31 years as a professional dancer and instructor. She has owned studios in Europe and the far east, and taught for major international companies in Europe. Upon returning from Europe, she opened The Magical Movement Studio of Dance in the fall of 1999. It has been an exciting, happy and safe place to learn and dance ever since. The preschool curriculum has been so successful that Mrs. LeAnn has been in demand as a trainer for professional companies and studios wishing to start a preschool program.

In the summer of 2007 Magical Movement changed its name to The Magical Movement Dance and Fine Arts Academy. They moved just 3 doors down in the same shopping center to a larger space to accommodate increasing enrollment and a new fine arts curriculum!

The new facility is state-of-the-art. Its a bright colorful and comfortable space, approximately 2,500 square feet complete with neoprene padded floors and closed circuit television cameras for class observation. They also have a large observation window in the dance room for parent observation There is a small retail area with dance necessities for the convenience of parents and students. All of Magical Movement's instructors have degrees, professional experience or professional certifications. Several instructors have all three. The average class size is approximately 12 students per instructor. Some classes will also have assistants. Magical Movement's goal is to give every child personal attention, corrections and praise in every single class!!!!

Magical Movement is the only west end professional studio to offer a wide variety of dance classes as well as other fine arts programs to meet their client's needs under one roof. They have classes for boys and girls of all ages. Magical Movement is looking forward to adding more new and exciting classes in the future. We would be pleased to share the magic of the fine arts with you and your child.

Dress Code

For creative movement, combo classes, and ballet, dancers need pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and a solid color leotard of their choice. If your combo class has tap, please have black tap shoes with tap ties (available for $3 at the studio). For a combo class with jazz, you can wear black ballet shoes or jazz shoes. Your instructor will let you know when and if you need black jazz pants; they are not necessary at the beginning of the year.

Dancers in jazz and hip hop classes can wear black jazz pants and tshirts. Please do not wear overly baggy clothing, as the instructors will not be able to see your knees, hips, and ribcage to check for proper body allignment. Dancers can wear either slip-on or tie jazz shoes. If your instructor would like you to wear the sneaker-style hip-hop boots, your instructor will let you know.

We are open from Monday through Saturday. Please see the class schedule for the hours the studio is in operation. To reach a staff member please call the studio and leave a message. We will return your call as soon as possible. Most messages will be
